A very <leliglitful garden party was given by Mrs. H. Douglas yesterday at her home, Ohaupo Koad, Hamilton* for the Rev. Dr. H. D. A. Major and Mrs. Majo?, of Ripon Hall, Oxford. Mrs. Douglas was wearing a brown silk frock with handsome lace collar; Dr. Mary Douglas, red and white erene do chine; Miss Margaret Douglas, green and grey georgette; Mrs. Major, brown and beige marocain, smart hat to match; Mrs. Harold Bull (Auckland), sister of Mrs. Major, smart red and navy crepe de chine, chic navy straw hat.
