GOVERNMENT HOUSE RECEPTION.
Their Excellencies the GovernorGeneral and Lady Aliee Fergusson held a reception at Government House on Wednesday for the delegates and visitors to the British Medical Assoc int. on Conference in Wellington. There was a large attendance, a number of Wellington people also l>eing present, and a pleasant time was spent by all. The rooms were gay with flowers, banks of pot plants and ferns being placed in the ballroom, while bowk of flowers stood about all drawing-rooms. Their Excellencies received their guests in the large drawingroom, and they then moved on to the corridor and ballroom. Here supper was laid at two long buffets 011 either side of the room. Lady Alice Fergusson wore a gown of floral georgetlte patterned in rose and gold with cape-like effect at the back and diamond ornaments. Am 01: \j those present were the Earl and Countess of Liverpool, who are at present in Wellington. Lady Liverpool wore black satin with diamond ornaments, and the ribbon of the Order of Dame of the British Empire, across her breast. Mrs. Bernard Wood, who was with Sir Joseph Ward, wore green georgette, the skirt falling in points, and lightly beaded in silver. Mrs. J. C. Cobbe was in black satin. There were also present the Hon. J. C. Cobbe, Hon. A. .1. Stall worthy, Dr. and Mrs. Valintine, the latter wearing black with white bodice and beaded in black and bronze; Colonel and Mrs. Pilkington. the latter in black embossed georgette; Sir Alfred Robin, Miss Robin, in white with silver sequins; Dr. and ilrs. Derrick, the latter in duck-egg blue satin; Dr. and Mrs. J. S. Elliott, the latter in pink ring velvet embroidered in silver; Miss Jessie Elliott, in pale pink taffeta and tulle.
