On Saturday evening, Jim Broad foot, of Waihi. and Clarrie Poeoek. of Christchnrch, met in a ten-round middle-weight contest under the auspices of the Te Aroba Boxing Association. During the early rounds of the bout I'ocock did the more effective work, forcing the pace and scoring consistently at long range. Broadfoot slowed up Ills opponent with bodv punches at close quarters in the sixth, and was able in the next to land several swings to Pocock's head. Broadfoot made up his leeway as they mixed it in the enduing rounds, and at the close of the bout Referee Meale declared it a draw.
