SCHNEIDER CUP RACE.

£5000 Donation For Preliminary Arrangements. GREAT EVENT IN BRITAIN. (Australian Press Assn.—United Service.) LONDON, February 15.

Sir Charles Wakefield, the well-known patron of aviation, has made a donation of £5000 toward the expenses of organising the next Schneider Cup race. It e is estimated that these will amount to between £15,000 and £20.000 The officials of the Aero Club have conferred with the Mayors of the principal boroughs overlooking the course about the arrangements for the accommodation of spectators. It is anticipatsd that 1,000,000 people will watch the race from start to finish. The course at Cowes takes in Ryde, S c 1 s e y, Southsea, Portsmouth, Gosport and Lee-on-the-Solent. A 75-kilometre circuit will be flown five times, equalling 217 miU-s. The club proposes to have liners below the air-course to act as grandstands.
