PROSPECTS GOOD.

DAIRYING AT MORRINSVILLE

PREVIOUS RECORDS BROKEN.

I* (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.)

r MORRINSVILLE, this day. It was confidently predicted by dairymen that the. months of January and February would show a considerable increase in the butterfat returns over the corresponding period last ; season. The disastrous drought was then at its height, and cows that had riot already dried off were being milked only once • day. From inquiries made it is apparent that the increase in the Morrinsville district this season will be phenomenal.

The figures and estimates available at the Morrinsville Dairy Company are remarkable. To the end of January the output was 885 tons, compared with 660 toils for the period lest season: The increase for January alone was 58 per 'cent, and the indications are that February will show an increase of 90 per cent. Up to to-day the total of butter manufactured is 950 tons, and an estimate of the season's yield, is that the 1000 mark will be exceeded/' *

The present season is .breaking alt previous records. The "climatic conditions have been ideal, ensuring a prolific growth of feed, which has been responsible for exceptionally high production. Coupled with this tfiere has never yet been a year when prices were maintained so consistently at a high level.
