TWO MEN ON TRIAL.

ONE ESTABLISHES AN ALIBI

After three and a-half hours' deliberation the jury at the Supreme Court yesterday found one accused guilty and another not guilty of robbery with violence in a charge arising out of two incidents which occurred on the waterfiont on the night of December 10.

The accused were Cyril Kevon Me Kenna and John Sidilens, defended by Mr. Sullivan, and they were jointly charged with robbing with violence Frederick J. Kneebone and Walter Easton. The evidence was that on the u»ht in question at different times Kneebone and Easton were assaulted and robbed in the vicinity of the Albert wharf. Huts, watches and a coat were taken, it being alleged, by the two accused. For the defence Mr. Sullivan called evidence to show that Siddens was at the wrestling match between Kilonis and McCarthy at the Town Hall that night. The jury brought in a verdict of guilty with a strong reco:n;nend.itio:i to mercy in the case of McKenna, and not guilty in the case of Siddens. Th? latter was discharged, and sentence will be passed on McKenna to-morrow.

A SERIOUS CHARGE

ACCUSED FOUND GUILTY.

Before Mr. Justice. Kennedy yesterday afternoon Joseph Patrick OSNeill, aged 27 (Mr. Mason) stood his trial on a charge of committing an indecent assault upon a male. After hearing the evidence the jury returned a verdict of guilty, and sentence was deferred till to-morrow morning.
