v an . a^senee of fourteen years, during which I praised our beautiful harbour and its wonderful beaches wherever I went, and my travels have been considerable. I arrived back in Auckland, and with a friend from Gisborne went for a swim on the Cheltenham Beach. Ihe water looked well from the shore, but it was really dirty with sewage. Surelv there is some remedy for this sort'ot thin?.* F. HAMPTON. The harbour and beaches do set verv contaminated with sewage.
