MUNICIPAL BOWLING GREEN.

I would like to draw attention to the disgraceful state of the municipal bowline <rreen in \ ictoria Park. This green, which has been played on for about seventeen years, has never been m such a condition. Weed's abound everywhere and it is nothing better than a paddock. ♦I"u time wLen this £"*" had a clnb attached to it with a membership of fifty or so, amongst whom were some of our leading bowlers to-day. The green then Mas perfect, lhe club has dwindled" down now to a mere handful, simply because the green is not «t to play on. Our tramway men arc a. fine lot of "sports" who dearly love a game of bowls, as numerous clubs well know. Their working hours prevent them from joining any club and they must cither play on the park green or do without a game altogether. If the green was in even a fair condition I can safely say that the tramwav men would come in crowds. This green is the only one where the worker can enjoy a game of bowls within hit means - JACK HIGH.
