MOVE TO APPOINT INSPECTORS
AGRICULTUKAL HIGH SCHOOL
SCHEME
At a meetinp of the Auckland executive of the New Zealand Institute of Horticulture Mr. J. Hunter presided. The secretary (Mr. X. B. W. Thomas) reported arrangements were in hand for the appointment of honorary inspectors to prevent vandalism on bush and ecenic reserves. The objects in view were partly educational and partly the preservation of the areas concerned.
It was decided that a vote of thanks and appreciation be sent to the Hon. H. Atmore (Minister of Education) for his appreciative and sympathetic reception of a deputation from the institute which waited upon him in Auckland to eek him his support of a movement to establish an agricultural high school near Auckland, under separate control. A committee consisting of the chairman, secretarv and the orchard inspector for the Auckland district (Mr. W. H. Rice) was appointed to inquire into the question of establishing the' proposed agricultural hich school.
With the intention of visiting the Pukekohe Technical High School, it va« decided the members of the executive and the Provincial Agricultural Education Committee leave next Monday hr the Rotorua express for Pukekohe. A vote of congratulation was passed to Dr. W. S. Hill on gaining his doctorate on the thesis "Culture of Lucerne."
