HOSPITAL ADDITIONS.

EXPANSION IN THE WAIKATO. TOTAL COST OF £23.550. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) HAMILTON. Thursday. The building programme of the Waikato Hospital Board for the current year includes a new administrative block at the hospital with residential quarter? for junior doctors at a cost of £15.000. Other works include an additional operating theatre, heating services, workshops and laundry, at a cost of £5800. making a total of £23.8.">0.

It was reported at to-day's meetinj: of the board that plans for the proposed maternity ward were ready and that Ministerial consent to proceed was awaited. The cost is estimated at

£12,000. towards which the Hamilton Borough Council has promised £1000. This will carry a subsidy of £2000, leaving £9000 to l>e raised I>y loan.

A travelling dental clinic for the benefit of people in outlying districts was suggested by Mr. G. S. Clarke, of Te Awamutu. Mr. Dent, of Kawhia had previously suggested that a clinic should be established at the Kawhia Hospital, but Mr. Clarke considered this would not meet the position so well as the travelling clinic. The board decided to await a requisition from the people of the district before takins action.
