EGG-LAYING

CONTEST KESULTS, 46TH WEEK

The forty-sixth week of the Auckland Poultrykeepers' Association's tenth single pen and team egg-laying contest ended on Sunday. Some splendid records are being achieved, and the following birds have passed the 300 egg mark:— J. Nixon's No. 4 Black Orpington, 315; Thos. Dowthwaite's entire No. 2 team of fawn and white Indian Runner ducks has 313, 307, 314, 318 to its credit; L. Ayling's No. 2 Khaki Campbell, 304: R. B. Cruickshank's No. 3 Khaki Campbell, 302; A. Wood's White Indian Runner No. 1 307 and No. 3 304. Next week's laying should see several more ducks attain 300 each. With four weeks still to go it is anticipated several new records will be established.
