TONGARIRO HOSTEL
THE FOUNDATION STONE. TO BE LAID OX SATURDAY. On Saturday the Hon. A. J. Stallworthy, .Minister of Health, will lay the foundation stone on Chateau Tonga'riro, which is being erected at Whnkapapa, 011 the slopes of Tongariro above the huts, for the Tongariro Park Tourist C ornpany, which has obtained a lease of the required land from the Tongariro National Park Board. Costing ab<Xit fTS.OOO, the hostel, which will be 011 a par with the most modern of similar structures in other parts of the world, will be rpadv for use by next Christmas. Special arrangements for the ceremony on Saturday have been made by the Railway Department, which will attach an extra sleeping car to the Main Trunk express tomorrow evening. The return journey to Auckland will bo made 011 Saturday night, the train being due at 10 o'clock. *
