STOWAWAYS RETURNED.
TRIP TO PANAMA. PUT TO WORK. Two men, who left Auckland on December 8 as stowaways in the steamer Canadian Highlander, returned to Auckland yesterday by the Canadian Conqueror. They were discovered shortly after the Canadian Highlander left Auckland, and were put to work until the vessel reached Panama. There they were put ashore and kept under surveillance until another vessel of the line, outward bound, should pick them up. On their way back to New Zealand by the Canadian Conqueror, the stowaways had to work their passage.
