GRAMMAR CLUB'S GALA. SOME BRILLIANT EFFORTS. .MISS ROBERTSON S HUNDRED. A sprint from scratcii oxer 100 yards in the record time of 05 2-os at the Grammar Club's gala last night enabled Miss 1\ Robertson, the brilliant intermediate girl champion of New Zealand, to demonstrate that she is indeed a champion. Her time, in dead-heating with .Miss D. Grant (Is) was l-.">s faster than the New Zealand ladies' record, and indicates that with Miss Robertson, Miss Stockley and Miss Grant the Auckland Centre has a trio of brilliant sprint swimmers. Another feature of the gala was the performance of (J. Bridsott, the New Zealand quarter and half-mile champion, who swam his heat of the furlong race in 2m JJls, which equals the New Zealand record established by A. Stokes (C liristchurch) in winning the Dominion championship. 'The gala was well managed and interesting thorughout, and included some exhibitions of diving by Professor Anderson and the Ponsonby troupe, which took the fancy oi spectators.
