AUCKLAND PRESBYTERY.

ELECTION OF MODERATOR.

The Auckland Presbytery met yesterday afternoon and evening at St. David's schoolroom, Khyber Pass, when members were addressed by Principal Clow. The Rev. Evan R. Harries was elected Moderator.

Helensville.—The Rev. Matthew Miller wrote resigning the charge of Helensville Church, as doctors held out no hope of his being able to resume his work. He asked to be relieved of the charge at the end of March. The resignation 0 was accepted with regret, as from March 31.

The Eev. T. Halliday was appointed interim Moderator for Helensville, and the Rev. I. Richards for Warkworth. A resolution was passed recording appreciation of the Rev. Halliday's good work in looking after the interests of the Church, and of Mrs. Miller, for the way in which she had worked.

St. Andrew's Church.—The managers of St. Andrew's Church asked permission to increase the amount of the mortgage. Mr. F. W. Matthews explained that the money was required for the renovating of the building, which included practically reroofing the church. They had every reason last December to believe that Dr. Seymour would accept the call, but his iast message stated family affairs prevented his leaving Canada at present. The matter was referred to the property committee, with power to act.

Annual Retreat.—On the mo.tion of the Rev. L. H. Hunt, the Presbytery decided to hold the annual retreat about Easter. It was also decided to hold a picnic at Motuihi in connection with the Presbvtery.
