CRICKET.

PROPOSED AUSTRALIAN VISIT. MAILEY'S SUGGESTION SUPPORTED (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) WELLINGTON*, this day. Mr. P. B. Broad, chairman of the Wellington Cricket Association, says it would be an excellent thing if a visit of the Australian cricketers prior to going to England could be carried out, as A. A. Mailey suggests. He added that an invitation had been forwarded to send an English team to New Zealand next season, and if that "eventuated he doubted if New Zealand could take an Australian team as well. If the tour applied to the 1931 season it might have been possible. However, it was a matter for the New Zealand Council to decide. CABLE BOARD V. ST. JAMES'. VICTORY FOR CABLE BOARD.
