AUCKLAND AFFAIRS.
PROPOSED RECONSTRUCTION.
DRAFT OF NEW CONSTITUTION".
There is a possibility that next fea--"ii the Auckland Football Association
may work on a reconstructed basis, and proposals are being considered prior to submission to a special general meeting of the association which is to be neld within a Tew weeks. The exact tenib of the reconstitution of the code and its
internal administration have not yet been divulged, but they are likely to be on the lines of drastic reform. There i? a probability that the management committee as at present coii-tituted will give place to a board of control, which will be composed of probably -ix. unattached supporters of the code who will deal witli matters of finance, policy and general welfare. The different grade* of the code will in all probabilitv be controlled by league committees elected by the clubs in each <:raile to tUe fourth, which, with all lower division* and schools, will, as in past years, be under the jurisdiction of the junior management committee.
Details of the new formation are under the consideration of a special sub-eom-mittee of the management committee which wa- set u[> at the weekly meeting last night, over which Mr. Andrew Menzies presided. The special general meeting to consider the proposed alterations ill the constitution of the A.F.A. will be held, prior to the animal general meeting, which falls due. at the end of March.
The lia.-i> for the proposed reformation of the association emerged from the discussions between the Businessmen's Committee, the A.F.A. sub-committee and the Suburban Association sub-committee during the negotiations for a settlement of the dispute which arose last season.
Delegates from the Thistle Club were present at the meeting last night, and a discussion took place on matters, concerning the reaftiliatinn of the dub with the A.F.A. It was pointed out that the New Zealand Council required. along with the iipplication for reaih'liation, a statement in writing that tlie chili had resigned from tht> Suburban Association and it wa~ undertaken that would be supplied.
