In the winze on the Oγlando reef hnm?ingwall branch, the pump h;i< lowered the water to a depth of Soft leaving another loft of water to pump out of the bottom. The crosscut east from the top of the rise on tno dropper off the Sons ot freedom reef h:is been extended 4ft' a total of -toff. A start has been made to drive north on the small leader in this crosscut. This leader average* two inches wide and the qunrtz looks well The drive north on the niiiin Sons of Freedom reef from the top of the rise, hns been extended 3ft. a total of l.'ft The reef averages 7>ft wid<>. and is a fine bodv of stone, currying mineral blend and silica ;ind looks well for makinz sold. A rise has been started from the fneo of drive to connect with the ""ft level and has been risen 3ft, a total of 3fr. The reef averages .">ft wide, and nlso looks very well; i n about 35ft of rising the rise'should hole thronzh to the "Oft level.

Lucky Shot Mines.—Thp manager reports that the contractors completed the low level contract on Wednesday thp 6th, nnd started rising on contract to connect'with the No. 1 winze. The rise is heini: carrip-I up on thp cross reef, which is "2ft wide, and is showing very favourable minpr;il indication's with a good gold hearing class of andesite on both walls. The No 1 winze has been sunk 3ft. Most of the past week has been confined to timbering. Thpre has been no change in the reef since last rpport. The crushing of ih? tri;>l parcel of 50 tons of ore was finished to-day, and the retorting of the bullion will take place on Monday.

Occidental Una. —The manager reports:—• "We have driven another sft south on the No. 2 reef, making a total of 20ft: another set of timber has been put in. Driving is being continued, and the country passed through is looking very well: the reef, which averages about sft in width, has colours of gold all through it. All quartz has bppn saved for crushing, which will be resumed when then til eufficient water for the battery. BLACKWATER MINES.
