RELIEF TO BE GIVEN.

STATEMENT BY MINISTER.

NAPIER, this day.

The Minister of Customs, the Hon. J. G. Cobbe, told a deputation to-day that the intention of the Government was to give relief to transport firms. He personally thought that relief would be forthcoming. He also eaid if the Dominion product was as good as the imported article for tar-eealing, protection should be given.
