MR. H. R. MACKENZIE TO STAND
Some little time ago Mr. H. R. Mackenzie announced that he was retiring from the chairmanship of the Auckland Harbour Board on the expiration of his present term of office. A large majority of the sitting members have felt that it would be unfortunate if the Board was to lose the special knowledge that Mr. Mackenzie has gained during his lengthy term in the chair, and as a deputation has approached him with a request that he stand <is a member at the elections later in the year, Mr. Mackenzie, after some consideration, has agreed to again offer It* service* to the elector* whom he now * resents. i
