BRISTOL FIGHTER 'PLANE.
SAFE LANDING ON BEACH. ENGINE TROUBLE EXPERIENCED, (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) OTAKI, this day.
A Bristol fighter 'plane, flying across Cook Strait en route to Hawera and Auckland, developed engine trouble, and was forced to land on Waikanae Beach. Major L. At. lsitt, the pilot, made a good landing. Major lsitt left Christchurch yesterday about 2 p.m., with the intention of flying, via Blenheim, to Hawera, where he was to spend the night. Witli him is Air-Mechanic Smith, from the Wigram Aerodrome. The Bristol 'plane is to be flown by Major lsitt during the combined manoeuvres of the New Zealand division of the Royal Navy and the territorials.
