BYRD'S SUPPLY SHIP.

SECOND TRIP TO THE ICE QUICK LOADING ESSENTIAL. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.> WELLINGTON, this day. Mr. Richard Brophy, second in command of the Byrd Antarctic Expedition, says he has made plans to have the supply ship Eleanor Boiling loaded within 48 hours of her arrival from the fo*. If there is delay, the chip's second trip this season will be impossible. The Eleanor Boiling is cxpeeted to return to Dunedin between February 12 and 18, the date depending upon the ice conditions in the Bay of Whales, t\bieh Commander Byrd reports are "still very aggravating-." He says the ice this | year is very much worse than any explorer has ever experienced in the past. It, will make unloading operations very difficult. "From this it will be seen that the second trip of the Eleanor Boiling is still in doubt," says Mr. Bropby, "as it would be impossible to send her back to the Bay of Whales if she were leaving Dunedin later than February 20."
