MINISTERS' MOVEMENTS.

The Hon. G. W. Forbes, Minister of Lands and Agriculture, left for Wellington last night, after spending two days in Auckland. To-day the Minister is presiding at a conference of Crown Lands Commissioners and members of the Lands Purchase Board from all parts of Xew Zealand. The conference will discuss the areas of land most suitable for settlement, and assist the Minister to formulate his policy. On Friday Mr. Forbes will leave for the South Island, where he will spend about a fortnight. The Minister is expected to return to the Auckland province in mid-February. The Minister of Education (Hon. H. Atmore) and Minister of Labour (Hon. W. A. Veitch) were expected to visit Auckland on March 2, to attend a conference relating to the problem of finding work for boys on leaving school. Both Ministers find that pressure of work prevents their attendance on that date, and the conference will probably be postponed till a later data.
