Professor H. Easterfield is staying at the Star Hotel.

Mr. H. Coxhead, of Timaru, secretary to the Tongariro Park Tourist Company, Ltd., is in Auckland.

The Hon. Mr. and Mrs. M. Troy, of Perth, WA., are staying at the Central Hotel.

Mr. R. S. Wilson, principal lightkeeper at Cape Brett, who is now on furlough, leaves Auckland to-morrow, and is going fishing with Mr. Zane Grey.

Dr. E. Roy Lange, of Thames, has been admitted to the Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh.

Mr. J. Y. Cameron, who has been postmaster at Tauranga for the past four and a-half years, has been transferred to Morrinsville as postmaster.

Sir Byron and Lady Peters, Lieutenant G. G. Peters, Mr. G. H. Peters, and Miss L. M. Peters, who are on a holiday visit to New Zealand, are at present at the Hot Springs Hotel, Okoroire.

Mr. H. O. M. Bree, Chief Postmaster at Wanganui, retires on superannuation on February 16. Mr. Bree has a record of 38 years' in the Department. In 1891, he started as a cadet in Napier, and since then has risen steadily in the service. He was in the Money Order and Savings Bank Department in Auckland and was accountant of that 'branch in Wellington in 1919. In 1920 he was Chief Postmaster at New Plymouth, and was appointed to Ills present position in Wanganui in 1925.
