Rapid Rise Of Queensland Rivers. ONE MAN DROWNED. (Recplvcd 12 noon.l BRISBANE, this day. The Bui'dekin River commenced to rise without any warning at the rate of five foot per hour until it was within three frpt of the railway lines. The rapid rnte then slackened. At 7 o'clock last night the water wa» over the rails and was still rising. AIJ railway traffic is stopped as the bridges niR under water.
Tho train from Cairns to Townsvilla passed over the Herbert Jtiver bridge but the water then came down from the ranges and tho train was held up at Cardwell. While endeavouring to cross the bridge over the Herbert River Heniy Zeike was swept away and drowned. *
