The weather i» pleasant and sunny today, but the wind is juct strong enough to be a little disconcerting for players in the Xew Zealand bowling tourney, more especially those playing on the hill greens. All the greens are on the keen side, but are running smoothly. Logan, of Maitai (Nelson), who last year wo n the pairs championship with Dunj'by, his present lead, got his first victory on this occasion this morning, a default win from Lulhain, of Wellington. Kdwards, of Temuka, the 1923 winner, registered his third win, Woolf (Christchurch) defaulting. The Bells, of Hamilton, who were runners up in the pairs championship in 1927, when A. Brackenbush and Maxwell Walker, of Auckland, won, went down for the second time this morning, Chapman (Masterton) getting home, 21—18. Those players with four wins and throe wins to their credit at the end of the fourth round of the pairs championship played this morning are as fellow:— SEPTIOX A.
