Deliveries this week, 1750 tons. In store, 3150 tons. Australian, finest salted. 184/ to 186/ (180/ to 182/); unsalted, 184/ to 190/ (182/ to 186/). Argentine, finest unsalted. 178/ to 182/ (176/ to 182/); Danish, 189/ f.0.b., 192/ to 196/ spot (185/, 195/1; Dutch, unsalted, 200/ to 202/ (208/); Siberian, 180/. Market steady. New Zealand retail price unchanged. 1/10. Danish retail price reduced to 1/11. Cheese.—New Zealand, white, 93/ to 95/ (95/ to 96/); coloured, 95/ to 97/ (98/ to 99/). English finest farmers', 142/ to 144/ (142/ to 144/). Market improved after quiet week. Retail prices unchanged. The Port Darwin commenced discharging cheese on January 4, and butter on January 5, and completed both on January 7. The Rimutaka commenced discharging cheese on January 5, and butter on January 7. and completed both on January 9. The Mataroa commenced discharging cheese on January 7 and finished on January 9.

Mutton Market.—Light-weight wethers and ewee firmer. Beef Markets. —Fair trade despite low prices Argentine chilled beef. New Zealand Porker Pigs—Better prices, with good consumptive demand. The New Zealand Meat Producers' Board also reports the following shipments of frozen meat from the Dominion for the last quarter of 1928:—Beef, 21,483 quarters; mutton, 193,017 carcases; lamb, 371,356 carcases; and pork, 34,181 carcases. The total for the same quarter in 1927 was: Beef, 27,877 quarters; mutton, 249,520 carcases; lamb, 421,666 carcases, and pork, 17,070 carcases.
