WEDDINGS OF THE WEEK.

BERGE—FHItOW. St. Luke's Church, Rotorua, was the scene of a pretty wedding, on Wednesday, January 9, when Miss Phyllis* Finlow, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Finlow, of Auckland, was married to Mr. Norman Berge, second son of Mr. and Mrs. D. E. Berge, of Rotorua. The Rev. F. Redgrave officiated. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a dainty frock of ivory satin, aiid a hand-embroidered veil, which was held in place with a coronet pf orange blossom. She carried a sheaf of Madonna lilies. Miss Rene Beige, sister of the bridegroom, was chief bridesmaid, and she wore a dainty frock of cyclamen crepe de chine, with tulle headdress td tohe; the other bridesmaids were Miss Nina Berge and Miss Spencer. The former's frock Was of apple green crepe do chine, with tulle headdress to tohe; the letter's frock Was lemon crepe de chine With tulle headdress to match; all lied Early Victorian posies. Mr. ,1. A, Cheatre attended the bridegroom as best man, and Mr, F. Cheatre was groomsman. After the ceremony a reception was held at Queensland House. To receive the guests, Mi's, Berge, mother of the bridegroom, wore a frock of navy blue chafnietise. Mrs. Finlow, mother of the bride, wore a frock of pastel IJlttP, hand-painted crepe de chine.

r CORNES—DENNISON.

The wedding of Doris Ethel, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. E. Dennison, of Auckland, with John W. Baden, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. John Edwin Cornes, of Mount Eden, took place at St. Barnabas' Church on Saturday afternoon. The Rev. F. P. de L. Willis performed the ceremony, and Mr. White officiated at the organ. The church was prettily decorated by the girl friends of the bride, whose gown Was made in an Early Victorian fashion of embroidered georgette, brocaded in .silver. The skirt was uneven length and longer at the back. Soft pleated lace was swathed froth the back of the head, and a beautifully embroidered silk tulle veil was worn over the head and formed a long train. She carried an exquisite bouquet of white carnations and lily of the valley. The tWo bridesmaids Were the Misses Anil Dennison, sister of the bride, and Rose Hogan, in frocks of silver lame, with panel overdresses of eau de rill silk georgette. Silfer roses were plaCe round the back of the tulle headdresses, and tulle scarves of the same shade round their shoulders. Autumn tinted shower bouquets were carried. The bride's father gave the bride away. The duties of beat man were carried out by Mr. Gordon Roy Cornes and the groomsman, Mr. Joseph Graham. A largely attended reception was held at the Domain Kiosk, when a wedding bell Of white roses and soMe fine gladioli adorned the tables. The bride's mother received the guests ill a navy blue georgette With deep, grey, lace hem, cuffs and vest of the same lace, and a blue hat With grey feather mount. The bridegroom's mother Wore floral georgette m shades of crimson and gold on a blaek ground, with black satin bands, black bat with osprey.

Peterson— McGregor.

The Church of the Holy Sepulchre was the seeene of the wedding of Mavis Doreen, younger daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. B. McGregor, of Mount Albert, to James Leslie Peterson, second son of Mr. and Mrs. J. F. Peterson, of Mount Eden. The officiating clergyman was the Rev. Gordon Bell. The bride, who entered the church on the arm of her father, wore a frock of ivory georgette, fashioned with, a threetiered' skirt and relieved with silver rose buds. The bride's veil, which formed a train, was caught to her head with a coronet of silk' lace and orange blossom, and she carried a shower bouquet of white and touches of palest pink. Miss Beryl McGregor, sister of the bride, was bridesmaid, and wore a frock of pale pink georgette with three tiered, pleated skirt. Her headdress waa of silver leaves, and ehe carried a bouquet of pink roses and carnations. Miss Joyce Eyton was flower girl, and wore a frock of pale pink crepe de chine, and a headdress of silver leaves and ribbon. She carried a basket of sweet peas and asparagus fern. Mr. Cyril Partington acted as best man. A reception was afterwards held at the "Kalinga" Tea Rooms, where Mts. McGregor received her guests in a frock of beige georgette and silk lace with hat to tone, and carried a bouquet of autumn tinted flowers.
