ROADS TO OPOTIKI.
AM. CARS GETTING THROUGH. SERVICE DRIVERS DO WELL. (By Telerrapb.—Own Correspondent.) OPOTIKI, this day. The bad clay section on the OpotikiGisborne Road is now drying quickly as a result of the recent "hot spell of weather, and service cars are now running to their usual time-table. It is understood that the worst portions of the road have received attention from the Public Works Department. It is not anticipated that in the future there will be any great difficulty for cars of any kind in getting over the MatawauOtoko section. A record number of cars has been carried on the railway this summer, which has been the most unsettled for manv years. Travellers epeak in terms o'f highest praise of the service car drivers who got through the quagmire with a minimum of discomfort to passengers
