PRICES FOR FRUIT.
GUARANTEE RENEWED.
MINISTER OPTIMISTIC.
(By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.)
WELLINGTON, this day. The Government Guarantee of 11/6 on the export of fruit has been renewed for 1929. The Minister of Agriculture, the Hon. G. W. Forbes, expresses the opinion that there is little likelihood of the guarantee for 1928 being called upon to any great extent. Fruit prices generally have been sufficiently good in the last year, he says, to cover all expense*. Over 1,000,000 cases left New Zealand last year.
