OUR COMPETITION CORNER

A glorious painting, holding all the pomp of Christinas, awaits the application of the brush. The picture affords excellent opportunities to our buddmg artists, and a host of colours can be worked in with artistic effect.

COMPETITION RESULTS FOR DECEMBER 12

The winners of the titling competition were: Dorothy Jones, 82, Richardson Road, Mount Albert, age 15; Gordon Osborne, Calliope A venae, Northcotc, age 9; Thelma Gates, 40, Eden Crescent, age 15; and Roy Watson, 16, Princes Street, Avondale, age 13. Certificates are awarded as follows:—BLUE (4 points) : Kathleen Neely, Esme West, Queenie Clark, Mary Sheehan, Jean Barclay, Keith Mosheim, Roy Neely, Peggy Dash wood, Coral Leece. PINK (3 points) : Arthur Feasey, Dick Feasey, Lorna Feasey, Arthur Osborne, John White Creamer, Noel Hewitt, Sheila Quinn. GREEN (2 points) : Arthur Pell, Jim Middleton, Tilda White, Magdalene Sheehan, Marion Sampson. YELLOW (1 point): H. Woc-drow, Edith C'ampkin, Mary Finan, Margaret White.

In the competition for the best ending to the story, Kathleen Neely, 34, West End Road, Heme Bay, age 16, comes first; Bessie Spooner, 61, Tine Street, Mount Eden, age 16, comes second; Sheila Quinn, Tennyson Street, Mount Eden, age 15, third; Bonald Sutcliffe, 6, Crown Street, Royal Oak, age 15, fourth; and John Creamer, Wilson Street, Ellerslie, age 16, fifth.
