WOMAN ROUTS THIEVES.

AT REVOLVER POINT.

NEWCASTLE, November 30.

How she armed herself with a revolver, and put to flight two men who had demanded the money in her till, was related to the police to-day by Mrs. Yates. The poliee are searching for the men. Mrs. Yates, who keeps a refreshment shop, in Nobby's Road, was about to put up the shutters last night when a man entered. He called for a glass of lemonade, and, when he had drunk it, said that he had no money, and sauntered out. Ten minutes later he returned with a companion, and told Mrs. Yates to put up her hands, and give them "a couple of quid." Appearing to accede to the demarm Mrs. Yates put her hand on the till. When she withdrew it, she was clutching a revolver. Overcome with fear and surprise, the two men bolted, and are being sought by the police.
