PUKEHOHE NEWS.

(From Our Own Correspondent.) PUKEKOHE, this day. The regular meeting of the Pukekohe Chamber of Commerce was held last evening, the president, Mr. H. J. Sumner presiding over a very small attendance. Advice was received from the Agricultural Department to the effect that there was no intentljn of cancelling or amending the regulations governing the importation of potatoes into New Zealand. Representations are to be made to the Railway Department to stop the train leaving Frankton at about 8 p.m. daily, at Pukekohe on request. It was pointed out that Pukek&he did not have a northbound train after 6 p.m.. and consequently the 'buses had to eater for this traffic, email as it might be. It wae aleo stated that the train would be particularly useful to Frankton farmers to attend stock sales in the southern parts of the Waikato. It was reported that since the Main Trunk southbound express was scheduled to etop at Pukekohe, one passenger had boarded it each evening. The fact that the train was stopping ie not widely known. It wae agreed to suggest to the borough council that rubbish baskets be placed at convenient places in King Street, with a view of educating the public to keep their town clean
