CHANGE OF ADDRESS.
TWO MONTHS' GRACE GIVEN.
NOTIFICATION TO REGISTRAR.
Now that the general elections are over the Registrar of Electors (Mr. Frank Evans) informed a representative of the "Star" to-day that he desired to remind electors who have not notified him of their change of address within the electoral district in which they are residing, that under the Electoral Act, 1927, they are allowed two months from the date of their removal in which to do so. Non-compliance with the law renders them liable to prosecution.
Electors who have resided in New Zealand for one year and have moved from one electorate to another, but have not yet registered in their new electoral district, are qualified to apply for registration upon completion of three months' residence therein. Failure to register within one month thereafter is an offence punishable by fine.
