MRS. PHIUPSON TO RESIGN.

LONDON, November 20.
Mrs. Hilton Fhilipean, ILP. (Can., Northumberland), at a meeting of the party's executive at Berwick-npon-Tweed, announced that she did not intend to stand again at the next general election. She said she had asked herself whether it was either possible or desirable for her to continue giving loyal service in the House of Commons in view of the appeal of her children. The Utter were between the ages of seven and fourteen, ages when they were most susceptible to home influences. She had come to the conclusion that it was impossible.
Mre. Hilton Philipeon was formerly Mb* Mabel Russell, a well-known English actress. She was born on January 1, 1887. She married Captain Hilton Philipeon on June 5, 1917, and they have two none and one daughter. Mrs. Philipeon wm fo*t elected to Parliament for the Berw**-upon-Tweed division of Northuinberlana, in June, 1923, in *"<**"***?*** J2£ band, who had been inw»Wj"« J*™* tion. She wa* reflected in December, 198, and October, 1924.
