SHOW AT NEWMARKET. The Auckland Horticultural Society's Rose Show opened yesterday afternoon by the president (Sir Edwin Mitchelson), who congratulated the exhibitors on the fine blooms presented, was continued to-day. Keen interest was shown by the crowd that thronged the Newmarket Hall, which had been converted into a gay bower of spring in all the classes, but chief interest was centred on the president's fine collection of general blooms and the display by Sergeant J. Rock, who annexed the Brett challenge bowl.
