RURAL CREDITS.
DEBENTURES SUBSCRIBED.
FURTHER ISSUE PROPOSED. NO DIFFICULTY EXFECTED. — i (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Thursday. The Prime Minister announces that lie has been advised by the Commissioner of Rural Intermediate Credit that the whole of the first issue of the board's debentures, amounting to £200,000, has been taken by investors, and that further sums are being freely offered. The first issue was a private one. It is proposed to authorise a further issue ol' debentures under section 20 of the Rural Intermediate Credit Act to the amount of £200,000, and it is confidently anticipated that no difficulty will be experienced in obtaining the money. Already a number of institutions closely associated with the farming industry, which have adopted a sympathetic and helpful attitude toward the administra tion of the Act, have stated their intention of taking up debentures, while inquiries made by banks and private savings banks indicate that substantial financial assistance will be forthcoming-
