THEFT CHARGES FAIL.
BANK ACCOUNTANT ACQUITTED.

NAPIER, Thursday.
Hercules Robert Hunter, accountant at the Bank of New Zealand, Napier, was tried in the Supreme Court on nine! charges involving forgery, obtaining! credit by fraud, false pretences and theft, the total sum of money concerned iioing about £650.
Evidence was heard at length for the' Crown. It was revealed that the amount involved had been paid into the bank since the charges were laid.
The jury found accused not guilty on all counts.
