NEARLY £1000 SHORT.
YESTERDAY'S STREET
COLLECTION.
ST. JOHN AMBULANCE APPEAL,
The amount of £650, which was collected by workers on the appeal of the St. John Ambulance Brigade in yesterday's street collection, is nearly £1000 short of what is required to carry on the work of this valuable organisation for another year. There were over 300 workers engaged in the campaign; tney were attached to stalls in Queen Street and other city thoroughfares, but their activities went ae far afield aa Papatoctoe and Manurewa. The amount realised will be used for service worit, the district nursing departments being dependent on donations entirely. The committee wush to tender their thanks to all who helped in the campaign.
