Dargaville Races.

Awamutu's Juvenile.—Te Money Breaks Maiden.—Hack Six To

Vallar.

The annual meeting of the Dargaville Racing Club is being concluded at Avondale this afternoon, before a fairly good attendance. The track is in excellent order. A Narrow Victory. Lunette, Fancy Boy, Brampton, and Mussie were withdrawn from the Hore Hore Handicap, and when betting ceased Red Lion (£445),' Owairaka (£243) and Good Boy (£182) came in for most support. The winner carried £167. Roman Pearl, Sulla, Red Lion and Lucklaine were the early leaders, and crossing the top they were racing as named with Furore, Josie Melville, Blue Spear and Zane Grey following. Furore led into the straight from Sulla, Josie Melville, Roman Pearl, Monetize, Camp Prince, Red Lion and Archeval, when Te Money came through fast from a long way back, and defeated Red Lion, who also finished well, by a head, with Roman Pearl a couple of lengths away. Monetize was fourth, followed by Sulla, Josie Melville, Blue Spear, Good Boy and Camp Prince. Favourite Wins Omua. Adjuster. Mussie and Furore failed to parade for the Omana Handicap. Vallar (£470), Lunette ( £421) and Partial Eclipse (£359) were best supported, and the public were not far astray in their judgment. Winsome Boy and Hone Heke were first to show out, but when the field had settled down the order was Partial Eclipse, Vallar, Hone Heke, Bulolo, Abbey Queen, Winsome Boy and Air King. As they turned for home Vallar had taken charge, his nearest attendants being Partial Eclipse, Bulolo and Air King. In the run to the post Vallar easily held his own, and was not troubled to win by one and a-half lengths from Bulolo, who defeated Partial Eclipse by two lengths. Abbey Queen was fourth, next iu order being Winsome Boy, Exalted, Taneriri, Catapult, Envoy, Diamond Queen and Liaison. Small Field in Hurdle Race. Importer dropped out of the Kirokopuni Hurdles, leaving a field of six to contest that event. Mangani was made a warm favourite, carrying £961, tne next in demand being the ClockworkMangaiti bracket £603, and Pekatahi £571. Passing the stand Clockwork had charge from Mangaiti, Mangani, Fane, Harbour View and Pekatahi. Racing along the back Clockwork was still the leader, followed by Mangaiti, Mancrani, Harbour View, Pekatahi and Fane. There was no alteration crossing the top, but as they turned into the straight Mangani had moved up into second place °1 Clockwork. When they cleared the last fence Harbour View put m a strong run, but failed to reach Mangani by a short head, with Clockwork two 'lengths further back. Mangaiti was fourth, with Pekatahi and Fane next.
