BLIND INSTITUTE BOYS' BAND
Auckland has become accustomed to the high standard of musical talent developed t J ", -, / 01,n - men and women of the Jubilee Institute for the Blind, and their success in examinations and in concert work have earned them a place in our musical life. The trustees have now decided to send a concert party on tour of the Dominion tor the purpose of rewarding the pupils for their fine work and also to give the many generous supporters or the institute in the South the opportunity of seeing something of the valuable work being achieved, striking results being attained by the institute in its task ot developing to the full the latent capacities of blind people. The band itself was formed onlv 18 months ago and during its short life suffered a set-back through the death of its leader Mr .G F. Cater. The boys have, howl ever, by their pluck and perseverance attained a standard of which anv sighted band would be proud. During their tour they will visit about 20 centres and will go as far south as Invercargill. An opportunity is to be given to their manv friends in Auckland to farewell them at a con. cert by the band at the Lewis Eadv Ha! 1 Queen Street, on Wednesdav next at 8 pjn. The Mayor will be in the chair.
