TOWN BOARD MEETS. VALUATION OF DISTRICT. _____ i (From Our Own Correspondent.) The Howick Town Board met on Thursday evening. The opinion that the board had not been fairly treated was expressed when a contribution of £17 was received from the Main Highways Board- for heavy traffic revenue for the past quarter. The board decided to notify the residents of approaching Armistice Day, with a request that two minutes' silence should be observed at 11.0 a.m. on that occasion. The clerk reported that the valuer was at present engaged in valuing the district. It was reported that building permits of a value of £1125 were issued in October, this including two residences, valued collectively at £i 045.
