ST. MARY'S HOMES.
FUNCTION AT PAPATOETOE
A successful function in aid of St. Mary's Homes, Otahuhu, was held in the Papatoetoe Town Hall yesterday afternoon. The Rev. P. C. Davis, vicar of Papatoetoe, presided, and there wae an attendance of 140. Arranged by the retiring secretary of the Papatoetoe branch of the homes (Mrs. Bewe), assisted by Miss G. Sutton, the function took the form of a variety entertainment. The programme was prepared by Mrs. A. C. Pawson, and was carried out 'by Mrs. Heeketh (violinist), Misses Hanna and Fair and Mrs. Good (soloists), and Mies Winifred Croeher (elocutionist). The Rev. C. B. Seton, chaplain of St. Mary's Homes, gave a short address, and Mies Wilson, organising secretary of St. Mary's Association, thanked Mrs. Bews for her work in the interests of the association. Mise Sutton. the newly-appointed secretary, was welcomed. Mre. Bewe, in returning thanks, said the Papatoetoe branch had a membership of 58 and was second in the Auckland district last year for the amount of money raised for the h.o.mes A
