DEATH FROM FRACTURED SKULL.

(By Telegraph.—Press Association.)

PALMERSTON N., Thursday. A motor cyclist who was proceeding along the Foxton line at an early hour this morning discovered a youth lying across the road, too late to avoid run" ning over him. He was thrown from his machine, but was not hurt.

He went back and found the youth, James S. Chappell, aged 20, seriously injured, having evidently been knocked down by a passing car or a cycle just previously.
