PRISONER AT LARGE.
"WILL NOT BE RECAPTURED. ,, BOAST MADE TO WOMAN. POLICE SEARCHING DAY AND NIGHT. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) TAIHAPE, this day. Charles William Wahle, alias Mcßao, who broke out of the Raetihi Gaol on Tuesday, October 23, is still at large. Ho has known the district since his boyhood, and although the police have been looking for him night and day they have not sighted him. He i< suspected of breaking into a Chinese fruit shop ;;t Ohakune Juuction. and also the Pokaka Post Office. Wahlo called at a Louse and boasted to a woman that lie would ne\er be recaptured, and also that no bolts or locks would hold him. as lie would easily pick any prison lock. A man believed to be Walile was sen walking along the railway line in the early hours of yesterday morning, near Mangaweka.
