TRAMLINE BLOCKED.
LANDSLIDE NEAR KELBURN. WEIXINGTON SHIPPING DISORGANISED. WEATHER NOW IMPROVED. (By TelegrapK—Special to "Star.") WELLINGTON, this day. The slip near Kelburn Viaduct last evening was of such proportions as to block the tramline, which is not yet clear. Fortunately there were four cars ion the Karori side of the slip, so that the tram service was kept up by transferring passengers. Buses took another route. Other slips of a mo're or less minor character have occurred in various hill suburbs. The weather conditions to-day have greatly improved. The Totara returned to port yesterday from Worser Bay, where she took shelter on Wednesday when proceeding to the heads en route to Timaru. The Tamahine had a bad crossing over the Straits last evening, and the Gale arrived at 3 p.m. after receiving a battering on the way up from Lyttelton.
The Maori left for Lyttelton at the usual time, but the Arahura's departure for Nelson was delayed till midnight.
