FOURTH GRADE FINAL,
PONSONBY BEAT MARIST.
In the final game of the Auckland Rugby Union's 1928 season on Saturday, Ponsonby beat Marfst for the fourth grade honours, the blue and blacks winning by 16 points to 10. The sides had met twice previously and each had scored a win. Barracking was spirited, and the game was strenuously contested throughout. Ponsonby Ramsay, Carter and Swinton scored tries. Francis converted two tries, and kicked a penalty goal. Schultz scored a try for Marist, Loombs potted a goal, and Hickey kicked a penalty sroal Ponsonby's success on Saturday gave them championship honours in four evades during the season, as follows: Third open, third intermediate, fourth nnrl sixth.
