EXCURSION" TO ROTORUA.
Scenes at the railway station this morning were exceedingly pa r . ticularly with the arrival of trains from a distance, which brought hundreds of country folk and peoplo from other centres to the city for the Labour Day holiday.
Both the first express and the Limited from Wellington were full trains, practically all the available seating accommodation having been booked from Marton. So well patronised was the Limited that it comprised a total of nine cars instead of the standard eight.
When shops and offices dosed for the week-end at mid-day to-day there was a renewed rush for tickets for southern parts. Bookings on all lines were particularly heavy, and hundreds availed themselves of the special excursion to Kotorua, which had been arranged by 1 RfP artn J® nt - The excursion train left the central station shortly after 1 o clock, and is scheduled to arrive at its destination at 7 pan. The holidavmakers will have all day to-morrow aid the great part of Labour Day to explore the. thermal regions, for the return journey does not commence till 4M p.m. on S , „Wk° ctla " d wi " «
