DETECTIVE'S COUP.
Cooked Fish Clue Leads To
Capture.
WANTED NEW . ZEALANDER.
(Received 12 noon.)
SYDNEY, this day.
A city detective yesterday trailed a woman shopping in the city stores, hoping that her actions would disclose the whereabouts of a man. wanted by the New Zealand police. The detective had little data to work upon, but he was convinced the woman was the man's wife. Her shopping excursion was extensive, but not enlightening to the watcher, who was beginning to fear that the trail was cold, when he saw her enter a fish shop and purchase some cooked fish.
With a more hopeful heart he boarded the same tram and then saw the woman enter a house.
Her husband was afterwards arrested and is now held for the New Zealand police.
