MOTOR TRUCK IN FLAMES.
TWO MEN ESCAPE NARROWLY.

PAHIATUA, Friday.
Two Power Board employees, Messrs. G. Smith and Robinson, had an exciting experience when the motor truck on which they were travelling caught fire. The truck, driven by Smith, was returning tor Pahiatua through Oete, and' when descending a hill the engine back fired and suddenly burst into flames, which ca-mo from near the petrol tank.
The two men just scrambled clear in time. .
There was a fire extinguisher in the ear, but it could not be reached, because the flames rapidly, enveloped it. The truck and a quantity of linesmen's tools were destroyed. The truck was insured.
